*sings* Happy Anniversary, Happy Anniversary, Happy Anniversary, Haaa-ppy Anniversary!

If you know me, you’ll know the exact tune/level of enthusiasm to which I sing that little ditty. And so what if it’s only Matt and Kim’s “month anniversary” (10 to be exact!); month anniversaries warrant made-up songs… Whereas annual anniversaries warrant presents ;)

This month I was dead set on putting together another maddenvallis wedding photo post. Seriously, these two have upped their game this summer, and you just have to see the totally amazing, wicked awesome work they are doing. Remember how I said one day I want them to shoot my wedding? Well multiply that “want” by 1000, and you’ll get how bad I want these two capturing my day o’ love (when it comes :) ).

While flicking around, I realized Matt and Kim already did the majority of my work by picking some great shots with which they made their flashcards and social media profile pics. Or maybe they were just watermarking their shots. Either way, I think these pics + branding = perfect perfect perfect. I think it shows exactly the kind of work that Matt and Kim are doing, their personal style, and their rediiiiculous talent. So without further ado…maddenvallis willow tree kiss

Cuz I am! If you have a wedding/engagement/anything that you want captured coming up, I HIGHLY recommend you get in touch with Matt and Kim, because with work like this, I bet they’ll end up booked solid! Jeff and I were lucky enough to meet up with Matt and Kim along with another affianced pair of friends while we were house hunting recently in NS (more on that later), but we didn’t get to do much catching up due to our love-bird friends being aflutter about potentially working with Matt and Kim in 2012! So M+K, next time it’s you and us, and hours and hours for nerd-talk, wine, and good food :)

Check out all of Matt and Kim’s work at their website!

February 19th, 2011

yah, we’re havin’ a party

Aw, the immortal words of Mr. Rod Stewart. It is that groovy attitude that fills the air today; the day of Dev and Ern’s ENGAGEMENT PARTY!hearts strings

Oh, I’m not giving it all away! Just a couple hints, a couple allusions of what is to come.seaglass

This is all very fun for us as it is usually Devon and Ernie throwing the parties for us. Keeping them mostly in the dark about this one has left us giddy with excitement.stars

We’ll see you tonight, love birds! ;)

January 10th, 2011 – monthly love

Happy January 10th to you! It’s that time again: time to share with you the work of the lovely, the talented, Kim and Matt Madden! Happy Three Month Anniversary Guys!Boy in Tartan

Thank goodness for anniversaries, as having a date to aim for seems to be the only thing keeping me on track these days! I don’t know if it is because I took such a long *buoy bird break* over the holidays, or if it’s because I’m still staving off the last legs of an awful cold, but there hasn’t been a lot of get up and go on the blogging front. Eh, I’m not overly concerned, as lulls are natural in most creative processes… but I digress.the menthe love shack

Matt and Kim! This set of photos shows some of the couple’s beautiful wedding photography. I thought it appropriate to share this content with you this month as I have recently been celebrating the engagement of my best friend! YAY! So De-vo and Ern, this one’s also for you!green door collageinto the woods

Dev and I have been talking weddings for YEARS, so this turn of events is definitely worth celebrating! It also got me thinking about my future “happy day”, and without a doubt, when that day comes, Matt and Kim are the photographers I will be going for.purple wedding cake

They say you should always choose a wedding photographer based on if you can visualize yourself in their photos. Well, this test is all I need to be sure that the Madden pairing is right for me. I love their creative and whimsical style, and their ability to capture the mood as set by the couple, location, time of year, weather, and theme. I just feel like Matt and Kim “get it” when it comes to what I (and my partner***) would like to convey on a wedding day. The trend of wedding photography is steering more towards the candid, and while they capture these precious moments, there is still great artistic integrity behind their work.the kiss

I HIGHLY recommend checking out Matt and Kim’s website if you and yours are going to be needing a talented pair of wedding photographers in the near future. Just don’t fill up ALL the booking slots before I get to them!

*** …see that? see how un-assuming I can be? ;)
